A low-priced VPN sold in dollars to anyone online

FastestVPN is a consumer VPN sold directly from its own website, with a password manager called FastestPass bundled in as a free extra. Its pitch leans on speed and price: the homepage talks about servers "optimized to 10Gbps speeds and faster", gaming, P2P file sharing, and a Lifetime plan at "93% Off". On who can buy it, the pages set no country limits. Prices are shown in US dollars, and the checkout offers credit card, PayPal and cryptocurrency through NowPayments, naming Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Ethereum and Dash. Apps are listed for Windows 7 and above, macOS 10.15 and later, iOS 13 and above, and Android 5 and above (with an APK for sideloading), plus Linux, Fire TV and Xbox pages, router setup, and extensions for Chrome, Firefox and Edge. One of the country pages says the Android app installs from the Google Play Store. The homepage says the service runs on "more than 20+ platforms" once a router is included. The footer also advertises a student discount, an affiliate program and a white-label VPN offer, so the brand sells to resellers as well as to consumers.

The Altius IT claim, logging and the Cayman Islands

FastestVPN's audit post is headed "No-Logs Certified - FastestVPN Passes Security Audit by Altius IT!" The provider says it engaged Altius IT, which it describes as "a leading independent California-based Certified Information Systems Auditor", and that "the entire VPN app, its servers, its features, and all legal policies were held under evaluation." The post says Altius IT found that FastestVPN does not breach its terms of service, privacy policy or no-logs policy, and it links a downloadable report. That is the provider's own account of the work. The post gives no date for the audit and does not quote the auditor's findings. Outside the provider's own announcement, the site does not name an independent audit of its logging policy, and the audit is not treated here as independently verified. The footer's claim that "All apps are audited" is also the provider's.

On logging, the provider states that its no-logs and privacy policies ensure "your IP addresses, passwords, and other identifiable data are never logged," and that no one, "not even us", has access to users' sensitive information. The same post says the team undergoes identity and access certification. These are the provider's statements; the privacy policy itself is linked from the footer.

On jurisdiction, the audit post states: "Our headquarters are in the Cayman Islands." It adds that by law the location does not require the retention of user data. That is the provider's reading of local law. The site does not name the company that operates the service, and no page names a parent company or sister brands.

Apps, protocols and servers for gaming and torrents

The protocols named are WireGuard, OpenVPN and IKEv2, and the homepage suggests WireGuard for faster speeds. Encryption is given as AES 256-bit. Each app has its own feature list. The Windows app has WireGuard, split tunneling and a kill switch. The Android app adds an ad blocker and split tunneling, and the iOS app has "Smart Tunneling", a kill switch and an ad blocker. The macOS app lists a NAT Firewall, ad blocker and malware protection. The browser extensions are described with ad blocking, WebRTC blocking and HTTPS redirection, and the page frames them as location-spoofing tools for the browser. Every plan lists an Internet Kill Switch, P2P-optimized servers, malware protection, a NAT Firewall, an ad blocker, 10 multi logins, unlimited server switching and 24/7 live chat support.

The server page states "800+ Servers Available in 49+ Countries and 100+ Locations", and the homepage speaks of "10 GBPS Ultra-Fast Servers in 100+ Locations". The US page mentions "virtual India servers", so at least some locations are virtual; the site does not say which or how many.

For gaming, the homepage says the VPN can help prevent DDoS attacks and reduce high ping. For torrenting, it names P2P file sharing as a feature and the US page says its servers are "optimized to give secure access to P2P file-sharing sites". For streaming, the homepage says FastestVPN "unblocks Netflix, Hulu, HBO, and more", the UK page names UKTV, BBC iPlayer and Sky Go, and the France page names Canal+ and TV5MONDE. These are the provider's claims, and none of them carries a test date. The site publishes no speed measurements behind the 10Gbps figure.

Prices, add-ons and refund terms

The homepage carries two price tables that do not agree. One lists a 1 Month Plan at $5 billed monthly, a Lifetime Plan at $40 billed once, and "1 Year + 1 Year Free" at $0.83 per month, billed $19.95 biennially. A second table on the same page shows a 1 Month Plan at $20 per month billed $10 monthly and a "3 Years + 3 Months Free" plan at $0.7 per month billed $25 triennially, and the checkout shows a 3 Year Plan at $39.95 prepaid. Anyone buying should check the figure in the cart. The site does not state renewal prices for the timed plans. The UK page adds that the $40 Lifetime Plan runs "for a duration of 5 years", which a buyer would not guess from the word lifetime.

Add-ons are priced separately: $1 for each additional device beyond the 10 included, a Dedicated IP for $1.49 per month (in the US, Russia or Germany), and port forwarding for $1.2 per month. The homepage and footer promise a 31-day money-back guarantee for new purchases, although the other price table mentions a 15-day guarantee instead. Support is described as 24/7 live chat plus email. The homepage says the service has "1M+" customers and "800+" active servers, and the audit post header offers 2TB of Internxt encrypted cloud storage alongside the deal.

Open questions, and who it suits

The site leaves a lot for the buyer to settle. The two price tables and the 15-day and 31-day refund windows contradict each other, and the Lifetime plan's 5-year term is on one country page, not on the plan card. The Altius IT audit is described only by the provider, with no date and no summary of findings beyond its own. The Cayman Islands headquarters is stated in one blog-style post, without a company name or registration. The 10Gbps claim and the streaming list come without figures or dates.

FastestVPN suits price-sensitive gamers and torrent users who want P2P-optimized servers, port forwarding and a dedicated IP as cheap add-ons, 10 connections on one account, and a choice of paying by card, PayPal or crypto. It suits readers less if they want a plainly stated price and refund window, a named operating company, or an audit they can read about from the auditor rather than from the provider.
